<br /> RESOLUTION CONCERNING TAX-D~.~.~ED LANDS AND
<br /> REPLACING SAME ON TAX ROLLS
<br />
<br /> WHEREAS~ Section 3897-d of the Political Code of the State of
<br />California, as amended, provides among other things, that whenever any property
<br />has been deeded for delinquent taxes and/or assessments to the State of California,
<br />and said property is subject to a lien which constitutes a deed, under Sections
<br />3897.3 and 3897-d of the Political Code, for delinquent taxes and/or assessments
<br />to any municipality, and such lien having been in existence for at least five
<br />years, the governing body of said municipality may enter into an agreement with
<br />the Board of Supervisors in time County in which said property is situated,
<br />subject to the approval of the State Controller, for the purchase, of, or for the
<br />option to purchase, the property so held by the State, or any part or parts
<br />thereof; and
<br />
<br /> WHEREAS, all of the Seventy-five (V5) lots or parcels of property here-
<br />inafter mentioned and described in an agreement of "Sale and Purchase" dates
<br />August 5th, 1940, marked Exhibit "B" hereto attached, are wholly within the City
<br />limits of the City of Santa Aha, in tt~ County of Orange, State of California, and
<br />are now delinquent for city taxes and for county taxes, or for public improvement
<br />assessments of the City of Santa Ana~ and i~arther, all of said lots or parcels
<br />of land hereafter described in said agreement, have been deeded to the State of
<br />California, for non-payment of County taxes, and are subject to a lien for
<br />delinquent taxes and/or assessments of the City of Santa Aha, which has been in
<br />existence for at least five years, and has not been pal. d; and which lien
<br />constitutes a deed fo~ delinquent taxes within the meaning of Sections 3897-d
<br />and ~897.3 of the Political Code, and
<br />
<br /> WHEREAS, there has this day been presented to the City Council of the
<br />City of Santa A~a a plan marked Exhibit "A" dated August 1, 1940, under which it
<br />is expected to return to the City tax rolls and to the County tax rolls all that
<br />certain real property situated in the City of Santa Aha, County of Orange, State
<br />of California, a~d being more particularly described and s et forth in said
<br />agreement of "Sale and Purchase" marked Exhibit "B" hereto attached and made a
<br />part hereof; and
<br />
<br /> WHEREAS, there has now been presented to the City Council of the City
<br />of Santa Ana, said agreement of "Sale and Purchase" a copy of which is annexed
<br />and marked Exhibit "B", dated the 8thday of August~ 19~0, wherein the Board of
<br />Supervisors of the County of Orange, State of California, acting under the
<br />authority granted to it by Section ~897-d of the Political Code of the State of
<br />California, therein desi~ated as the Seller, and the City Council of the City
<br />of ~anta Ana, acting under the authority granted to it by Sections 3897-d
<br />and 3897.3 of the Political Code of the State of California, is designated as
<br />the Buyer, wherein the said Buyer agrees, among other things, to purchase said
<br />delinquent tax lots heretofore mentioned and more particularly described in said
<br />agreement, for the sum of Seventy-five ($7Se00) Dollars cash, lawful m~ney of the
<br />United ~tates of America, said agreement, however, to be subject to the approval
<br />
