<br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF TRE
<br />CITY OF SANTA ANA DECLARING THEIR INTE~T-
<br />I0N TO ORDER THE CLOSING UP AND ABANDON-
<br />MENT OF AN ALLEY LOCATE~ 125 ~'~T SOUTH
<br />OF THE SOUTHLINE OF WEST FIRST STREET AND
<br />EXTENDING EASTERLY FROM SOUTH ARTESIA
<br />STREET HERETOFORE DEDICATED FOR ALLEY PUR-
<br />POSES TO THE CITY OF SANTA ANA; DECLARING
<br />IT TO BE FOR THE PUBLIC INTEREST AND CON-
<br />VENIENCE AND FIXING THE TI~ AND PLACE FOR
<br />HEARING OBJECTIONS TO SAID PPOPOSED IMPROV-
<br />MENT.

<br /> The City Council pursuant to the l~rovisions of an act of the legislature
<br />of the State of California, known as "Street Improvement Law of 1889", approved March
<br />6, 1889, Statutes of 1889, p. 70, and amendments thereto, do resolve and declare as
<br />follows:
<br />
<br /> SECTION l: That the public interest an~ convenience requires the closing
<br />up and abandonment of an alleyway parallel to and between West First Street and West
<br />Walnut Street, extending from South Artesia Street some 443.40 feet Easterly there-
<br />from, as hereinafter particularly described, heretofore dedicated for alley purposes
<br />in the City of Santa Aua, Orange County, California, and
<br />
<br /> It is the intention of the City Council of the City of Santa Ana to order
<br />that portion of the alleyway hereinafter described to be closed up and abaudoned;
<br />said portion is particularly described as follows, to-wit:
<br />
<br /> That certain 15 foot alley, 125 feet
<br /> South of the South line of West First
<br /> Street, parallel to and between West
<br /> First Street and West Walnut Street,
<br /> extending Easterly from the East line of
<br /> South Artesla Street a distauce of 443.40
<br /> feet.
<br />
<br />all of which is mere clearly shown on a certain map approved and adopted by the City
<br />Couucil of the CSty of Santa Aha for said closing up and abandcmnent by Resolution
<br />No. 2773 on the 18th day of March, 1940.
<br />
<br /> SECTION 2: That tl~e said City Council of the City of Santa Aha do further
<br />declare that the roads, lands or premises affected by the closing up and abandonment
<br />of ,the hereinbefore described alleyway and benefitted by said improvements are Lots
<br />One (1) to Nine (9) both inclusive, of Tract No, 407, as shovm on page 44, in Book 15~
<br />of Miscellaneous ~ps, Records of Orange County, California, and lots One (l) to Nine
<br />(9) both inclusive of Tract No. 259 as shown on page 31 in Book 13, of Miscellaneous
<br />Maps, Records of Orange County, California.

<br /> SECTION 3: That the proceedings for the closing up and abandonment of the
<br />aforesaid alleyway shall be had and taken under and in accordance with ~u act of the
<br />legislature of the State of California designated and known as "AN ACT TO PROVIDE FOR
<br />LA~£ING OUT, OPENING, EXTENDING, ~DENING, STRAIGHTENING, OR CLOSING UP IN WHOLE 0R IN
<br />PART ANY STREET, SQUARE, LANE, ALLEY, COURT OR PLACE WITHIN ~NICIPALITIES, AND TO
<br />CONDENN AND ACQUIRE ANY AND ALL LAND AND PROPERTY NECESSARY OR CONVENIENT FOR THAT
<br />PURPOSE", approved March 6, 1889, Statutes of 1889, p. V0~ and amendments thereto.

<br /> SECTION 4: The Street Superintendent shall cs~se to be conspicuously
<br />posted along the line of said cont~nplated work and Lmprovement at not more than 300
<br />feet in distance apart, but not less than three feet in all, notices of the passage
<br />of this resolution, in the form and manner as required by lsw; he shall also cause a
<br />notice similar in substauce to be published for a period of ten (10) days in the
<br />
