RESOLUTION AUTHOItIZING EXECUTION OF T.~.ASE WITH DEFENSE PLANT CORPORATION, A CORPCSATION, ~ITH RESPECT TO ENCROACNX~.NT OF. ~ERTAIN BUILDINGS ON PUBLIC RIGHT OF WAY WHEREAS, on the public alley extending from Wright Street to Maybury Street between Fourth Street and Palm Street, in the City of Santa Aha, said alley extending east and west across Block B of Gardner Villa Tract, and effectimg Lots 17, 19, 21, 23, 25, 2?, 29 and 31 of said Block B of said Gardner Villa Tract, there is an encroachment by buildings si~mated on said lots onto a~d upon said alley; and I~tEREAS, it is the desire that said building premises so located as here described be used by the United States Governmeht in connec- tion with its present war activity; and WHERF.AS, in view of the present shortage of food, it is extremely important that the use of said premises in that connection be uninter- rmpted and made most available; and WHat,AS, by reason of said facts and circumstances, it appears to be for the best interests of' the City of Santa Aha and the parties concerned that a lease be made to the Defense Plant Corporation so its operations will not be retarded; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA that the Mayor of the City of Santa Ana is hereby author- ized to enter into a lease with Defense Plant Corporation for and on beh,~f of the City, and th~ City Clerk of the City of Santa Aha is hereby authorized and directed to attest her slgnat~Are thereto, a copy of which lease is attached to and made a part hereof the same as resolution. this resolution, marked E~htbit if fully set forth in this PASSED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the said City Council held on the 1st day of November, 1943~ ATTEST 1~,~ ~ City Clerk
