WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Santa Aha proposes to <br />enter into a contract with the Board of Administration of the State Em- <br />ployees' Retirement System making the employees of said City members of <br />said Retirement System, which said contract is set forth in that certain <br />Resolution of Intention to Approve Contract for Participation in the <br />State Employees' Retirement System adopted at an adjourned regular meet- <br />ing of this Council on the 23rd day of August, 1946; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, under the provisions of the california State Employees' <br />Retirement Act such contract may not be approved unless and until an elec- <br />tion has been held to permit the employees proposed to be included in the <br />Retirement System to express, by secret ballot, their approval or disap- <br />proval of said retirement proposal, which said election shall be conducted <br />in such manner as to permit the firemen, the policemen, and the other <br />city employees to separately express their approval or disapproval there- <br />ore <br /> NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That such an election be conducted <br />on the BSth day of August, 194~, in the manner hereinafter preacribed: <br /> <br /> (a) Ballots, - The ballots to be used shall be those provided <br /> by the Board of Administration of the State Employees' Retire- <br /> merit System, printed on distinctive colored paper, fop each of <br /> 'the three classes of employees entitled to vote, one for t he use <br /> ~f City firemen, one for the use of City policemen, and the <br /> third forthe use of employees o~her than City firemen and City <br /> policemen; <br /> <br /> (b) T.h.e. Eleo~qn - The election shall be held under the <br /> supervision of the City Clerk, in the office of the City Clerk, <br /> City Hall. Ballots may be cast at any time between the hours <br /> of 9 A. M. and § P. M. on the 26th day of August, 1946. A roster <br /> shall be established for each of the three classes of employees <br /> entitled to vote, on which shall appear the names of all employees <br /> in the respective class, a space for the signature of each such <br /> <br /> <br />
