RESOLUTION NO. 3498 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE <br />CITY CLERK TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR THE <br />RESURFACING OF EAST WASHINGTON AVENUE <br />FROM MAIN STREET TO LINCOLN AVENUE, IN <br />THE CITY OF SANTA ANA, CALIFORNIA, AND <br />FIXING THE PREVAILING WAGE RATE. <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA: <br /> <br /> That the City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to <br />advertise as required by law for the receipt of sealed bids or <br />proposals for the doing of the work specified in those certain plans <br />and specifications adopted this 16th day of September, 1946, by this <br />City Council for the r~urfacing of East Washington Avenue, from <br />Main Street to Lincoln Avenue, in the City of Santa Aha, which said <br />advertisement shall be substantially in the following words and <br />figures, to-wit: <br /> <br />NOTICE INVITING SEALED PROPOSALS <br /> <br /> In pursuance of a resolution of the Board of Trustees of <br />the City of Santa Ana, Orange County, California, adopted directing <br />this notice, NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the said Board of Trustees <br />will receive at the office of the City Clerk in the City Hall of <br />the City of Santa Ana, on or before the hour of 7:30 otclock, p.m., <br />October 7, 1946, sealed bids or proposals for the resurfacing of <br />EAST WASHINGTON AVENUE from Main Street to Lincoln Avenue, <br /> <br /> Bids must be made on a form provided for the purpose <br />addressed to the Board of Trustees, Santa Ana, California, marked <br />"Bid for Washington Avenue Improvement". <br /> <br /> Notice is hereby given bidders that in accordance with <br />the provisions of Section 1770 of the Labor Code, the Board of <br />Trustees of the City of Santa Ana has ascertained the prevailing <br />rate of per diem wages for each craft or type of workman or mechanic <br />needed to execute the contract which will be awarded the successful <br />bidder, to be as follows: <br /> <br />SKILLED LABOR <br /> <br />Classification <br /> <br />Tractor driver ( 50 H.P. and over) <br />Roller operator (P.M. surface finish) <br />Carpenter <br />Asphaltic plant engineer <br />Asphalt raker and ironer <br />Asphalt plant fireman <br />Operator of power shovel or other excavating <br /> equipment, shovel type controls, 1.O cu.yd, or more <br />Finisher concrete structures, curbs and sidewalks <br />Blade grader operator (finish work) <br />Structural.steel worker <br />Reinforcing steel worker <br />Mixer box operator (A.C. plant) <br /> <br />Rate <br /> <br /> $ <br /> <br />per HOlLP <br /> <br />1,70 <br />1,75 <br />1,65 <br />1,575 <br />1.35 <br />1,45 <br /> <br />1,90 <br />1,775 <br />1,825 <br />1,625 <br />1,7V5 <br />1.45 <br /> <br /> <br />
