To resurface West Seventeenth Street 40 feet wide, from Flower Street to the West City Limits, with an untreated rock base 7 inches thick along both sides of the existing portland cement concrete pavement. The entire forty feet to be surfaced with ~ 1/B inches plant-mix surfacing over untreated rock base and a variable thickness, approximating .20. ft., over the existing concrete roadway. Plant-mix surfacing to be carried over the concrete storm drain where said storm drain and curb exist on the north side. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors of the County of Orange be and is hereby requested to find that the improvement (resurfacing) of West Seventeenth Street in the manner aforesaid is in the general County interest in that: Since the closing of West First Street by the Navy Ordnance Depot, West Seventeenth Street has become one of the principal East and West thoroughfares linking Santa Ana with western Orange County and the Long Beach area, with the probability that the traffic load will become heavier as development increases. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that it is understood that the grant of the aid hereby requested is contingent upon an independent finding by the Board of Supervisors of the County of Orange that the purpose for which aid is hereby sought is in the general County interest. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that is is understood that upon the acceptance by the City of Santa Aha of any grant which may be made by the County of Orange, pursuant to this request, this Resolution, the Resolution of the Board of Supervisors of the County of Orange specifying the terms and conditions of the grant, and any and all laws applicable shall constitute the agreement between the City of Santa Aha and the County of Orange respecting the grant. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED AND ORDERED that the City Clerk of the City of Santa Aha be and is hereby directed to forward a -2-
