RESOLUTION # S660 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION DESIGNATING PERSONS AUTHORIZED TO SIGN CITY WARRANTS <br /> <br /> WnJ~F~EAS, certain changes have occurred in the manner and method of <br /> banking City funds; and <br /> <br /> ~, certain changes are now proposed in the manner of affecting <br />withdrawals from City funds, and payment and cancellation of City war- <br />rants to conform with the State law and accepted banking practices; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, City Ordinance #7 provides in part that "All warrants or <br />orders upon the Town Treasurer for the payment of any money shall be <br />signed by the President an~countersigned by the Town Clerk"; and <br /> <br /> WHerEAS, Ordinance ~828, as amended by Ordinance #889, established <br />and created a payroll account and provides in part that payroll warrants <br />shall be signed by the "City Clerk or Chief Deputy Clerk, and counter- <br />signed by the City Auditor, or Secretary to the Auditor, provided however <br />that no check upon the payroll account shall be valid unless either the <br />City Clerk or the City Auditor shall sign the same"; and <br /> <br /> W~EREAS, it is the desire of the First National Bank and of the City <br />~Eeasurer that they be given definite information as to the names of <br />thoee persons properly authorized to sign City warrants; <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVmO that the City Council of the City of <br />Santa Aha hereby designates Ruby E. Bush as Chief Deputy AudiDor and Sec- <br />retary to the Auditor, and designates Marion Suttner as Chief Deputy <br />Clerk, for the purposes of the provisions of Ordinance #828, as amended <br />by Ordinance #889, and for such purposes only, and further resolves that <br />the records in the office of the City Clerk disclose that said persons <br />have been properly sworn in as such Deputy and Secretary respectively, <br />to comply with the requirements of said Ordinances; and <br /> <br /> BE IT FURTMER RESOLVED that the official canvass of the ballots at <br />the last City election disclosedthat R. Carson Smith was elected as a <br />member of the Board of Trustees, and that Erma Keeler was elected the <br />City Clerk, and that thereafter, by vote of the said Board of Trustees, <br />R. Carson Smith was regularly elected President of said Board and that <br /> <br /> <br />
