RESOLUTION NO. 5782 <br /> <br />Resolution Authorizing and Directing the <br />City Clerk to Advertize for Bids for the <br />Construction of Rest Rooms in Birch Park <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF ~HE CITY OF SANTA ANA: <br /> <br /> That the City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to adver- <br />tise as required by law for the receipt of sealed bids on proposals <br />for the doing of the work specified in those certain Plans and <br />Specifications adopted May 16th ' i ? 1949 , by this City Council <br />for the construction of the rest rooms in B r~h Park, Santa Ana, <br />California, which said advertisement shall be substantially in <br />the following words and figures, to-wit: <br /> <br />NOTICE INVITING SEALED PROPOSALS <br /> <br /> In pursuance of a resolution of the Board of Trustees of the <br />City of Santa Ana, Orange County, California, adopted directing <br />this notice, NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the said Board of Trustees <br />will receive at the office of the City Clerk in the City Hall of the <br />City of Santa An% on or before the hour of Z:OG~ o'clock p.m., on the <br />~rday of June , 19 49 , sealed bids or pro- <br /> the construction of Rest Rooms ~-~rch Park, Santa Ana, <br />California, as shown on plans and specifications. <br /> <br /> The minimum wage paid to all skilled labor for which rates are <br />not shown h~tow, shall be not less than $1.912~ per hour. <br /> <br /> The minimum wage paid to all intermediate labor for which rates <br />are not shown below, shall be not less than $1.5825. <br /> <br /> The m~!n~mum wage paid to all unskilled labor for which rates <br />are not shown b~t~w, shall be not less than $1.4875 per hour. <br /> <br />Overtime - one and one-half (l~) times the listed rates. <br /> <br /> Sundays and holidays (except watchmen, guards and flagmen) one <br />and one-half (l~) times the listed rates. <br /> <br /> The foregoing prevailing wage schedules are based upon a work- <br />ing day of eight (8) hours, and in the event that laborers, workmen <br />or mechanics are employed less than eight ($) hours per day, the <br />rate of per diem wages shall be deemed to be that fraction of the <br />forego~n6 rates that the number of hours of employment bears to <br />eight (8). <br /> <br /> In accordance with the provisions of Section 1777.5 of the <br />Labor Code as amended by Chapter 971, Statutes of 1939, and in <br />accordance with the regulations of the California Apprenticeship <br />Council, property indentured apprentices may be employed in the <br />prosectulon of the work. <br /> <br /> The bidder must submit with his proposal a satisfactory check <br />certified by a responsible bank and payable to the order of the <br />City of Santa Ana, or a bidder's bond, for an amount not less than <br />ten (10) per cent of the aggregate sum of the bid, as a guarantee <br />that the bidder will enter into the proposed contract if ~he~, <br /> <br /> <br />
