RESOLUTION NO. 5782 Resolution Authorizing and Directing the City Clerk to Advertize for Bids for the Construction of Rest Rooms in Birch Park BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF ~HE CITY OF SANTA ANA: That the City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to adver- tise as required by law for the receipt of sealed bids on proposals for the doing of the work specified in those certain Plans and Specifications adopted May 16th ' i ? 1949 , by this City Council for the construction of the rest rooms in B r~h Park, Santa Ana, California, which said advertisement shall be substantially in the following words and figures, to-wit: NOTICE INVITING SEALED PROPOSALS In pursuance of a resolution of the Board of Trustees of the City of Santa Ana, Orange County, California, adopted directing this notice, NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the said Board of Trustees will receive at the office of the City Clerk in the City Hall of the City of Santa An% on or before the hour of Z:OG~ o'clock p.m., on the ~rday of June , 19 49 , sealed bids or pro- the construction of Rest Rooms ~-~rch Park, Santa Ana, California, as shown on plans and specifications. The minimum wage paid to all skilled labor for which rates are not shown h~tow, shall be not less than $1.912~ per hour. The minimum wage paid to all intermediate labor for which rates are not shown below, shall be not less than $1.5825. The m~!n~mum wage paid to all unskilled labor for which rates are not shown b~t~w, shall be not less than $1.4875 per hour. Overtime - one and one-half (l~) times the listed rates. Sundays and holidays (except watchmen, guards and flagmen) one and one-half (l~) times the listed rates. The foregoing prevailing wage schedules are based upon a work- ing day of eight (8) hours, and in the event that laborers, workmen or mechanics are employed less than eight ($) hours per day, the rate of per diem wages shall be deemed to be that fraction of the forego~n6 rates that the number of hours of employment bears to eight (8). In accordance with the provisions of Section 1777.5 of the Labor Code as amended by Chapter 971, Statutes of 1939, and in accordance with the regulations of the California Apprenticeship Council, property indentured apprentices may be employed in the prosectulon of the work. The bidder must submit with his proposal a satisfactory check certified by a responsible bank and payable to the order of the City of Santa Ana, or a bidder's bond, for an amount not less than ten (10) per cent of the aggregate sum of the bid, as a guarantee that the bidder will enter into the proposed contract if ~he~,
