RESOLUTION NO. 3786 <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, it manifestly appears, after careful con- <br />sideration of all the facts of the case, that the application <br />of Southern Pacific Railroad Company, a corporation, and <br />Southern Pacific Company, a corporation, its lessee, for <br />renewal of franchise for railroad tracks across certain <br />streets and alleys in the City of Santa Ana is necessary <br />for the proper economic development of railroad service in <br />that vicinity; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, it is the conclusion of this City Council, <br />after such consideration of the facts, that there is and can <br />be no bona fide competition in bidding for such franchise; <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS RESOLVED that the City <br />Council grant the franchise to Southern Pacific Railroad <br />Company, a corporation, and Southern Pacific Company, a <br />corporation, its lessee, without advertising the same for <br />sale to the highest bidder, and the same shall be granted <br />by ordinance. <br /> <br />Santa Aha, <br /> <br />1949. <br /> <br />PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of <br />at its regular meeting held on the 16th day of May, <br /> <br />ATTE ST: <br /> <br /> City Clerk <br /> <br />(SEAL) <br /> <br /> <br />
