A RESOLUTION BEOLARING ~T~ RIGHTS OF THE 0IT¥ OF SANTA AMA, 0ALIFORNIA, TO TA~ WATER FROM THE SANTA ANA RIVER VALLEY UNDERGROUND BASIN AND GITING NOTICE OF THE OITY'S RIGHTS, IN- TENTIONS AND POSITION TO ALL PERSONS, FI~, OR OORPORATIONS WHO TAl~l~ WATER FROM SAID SOURCE, FIIING THE TERMS OF SAID NOTIOE AND ORDERING THE ~A~l~. PUBLISW~q~ AND SERV~u TO GIVE NOTIOE TO ALL WHO TAn WATER FROM SAID SOUROE. WHEREAS, for reasons fully stated in the form of notice herein- after set forth, it appears proper that the City of Santa Ama should cause to be published and to be served upon other takers of the under- ground waters of the Santa Ana River Valley basin a notice declaring its rights in and to said waters and of its intent to maintain such rights unaffected by the use of Colorado River water received from the Metropolitan Water District of Southern California, or otherwise, and should exercise its right to take such underground water; NOW, T~w~ORE, BE IT RESOLVED: FIRST: That the Water Superintendent be end he is hereby auth- orized and directed forthwith to place in full operation the wells and pumping equipment of the Oity, and to supply from the said underground waters, torte full extent to which it is physically practicable so to do, the needs of the Olty and its inhabitants for water; ~EOOND: That the Mayor and City Clerk be and they are hereby authorized and directed to cause to be published forthwith in the Santa Ama Register, in a conspicuous and prominent manner, as a display adver- tisement, the notice hereinafter set forth; THIRD: That the Mayor and City Olerk be and they are hereby authorized and directed to cause to be served upon all takemof under- ground water from said basin, so far as they can be ascertained, by personal service or by registered mall, as they may find to be practi- cable, a copy of said notice; and FOURTH: That the said notice so published and served shall be in the following form, to-wit:
