.desiring to become ~ consumer of water supplied by the City of Santa <br />Ana shall first make application to the City Cotu~cil for such <br />service. The City Council shall have the po,~er to approve or reJec1 <br />such application. If said application is approved, such applicant <br />shall provide, at his own expense, all necessary piping, meters, <br />etc. and shall pay for the water furnished to him by the City of San <br />Ana, at the following rates, to-wit: <br /> <br /> 1 - For the first 1,000 cu.ft, or less in any one <br /> month ............ $ 2.80 <br /> <br /> 2 - For the next 3,000 cu.ft, or less at the rate <br /> $.20 per 100 cu.ft. <br /> <br /> 3 - For all over 4,000 cu.ft, at the rate of <br /> $.16 ~ r 100 cu.ft. <br /> <br /> All other rules, regulations, service charges, etc. shall <br />apply to these consumers. <br /> <br /> APPLI,,qATION,S <br /> <br />Sectio~ ~9,. ,4. All applications for water must be made <br />on the forms provided by the Water Department and must be signed <br /> <br />out <br /> <br />by the applicant. <br /> <br /> All applicants other than real p~operty owners holding dee~ <br />to the property and not merely an agreement of sale, or their <br />authorized agents, must deposit with the Water Department, the sum <br />of $5.00 as a guarantee that all water bills, fines and penaSties <br />shall be paid by the applicant. The said deposit shall not be <br />returned to the applicant unless the water service is discontinued <br />within one year, or such additional time as the Water Superintendent <br />shall deem proper, and then only in the event that all water bills, <br />fines and pe~alties of said consumer have been paid in full. <br />Interest on said deposit shall be paid at the time said deposit is <br />refunded at the rate of six per cent per annum. <br /> <br /> PAYMENT OF WATER RATES <br /> <br /> Section No. 5. All water rates are due and payable at <br />the office of the Water Department in the City Hall, on the date <br />they are rendered and become delinquent fifteen (lS) days after <br />rendered, and if not paid before becoming delinquent a penalty of <br />ten (10) cents will be added. If the bill is still unpaid twenty <br />(20) days after being rendered the water will be shut off from the <br />premises and shall remain off until all rates, fines and penalties <br />have been paid. <br /> <br /> W~en the supply of water has been turned off for a <br />violation of any ordinance, or of any rule, regulation or requiremen <br />of said City, governing consumers of water, it will not be turned <br />on again except upon payment of the amount due, together with the <br />additional sum of one dollar, which is hereby made a penalty for a <br />failure to pay the said rate, and to pay said City for the turning <br />on of water again. <br /> <br />a <br /> <br /> <br />
