<br /> AN 0RDIN~NCE OF TI~ CITY OF SANTA ANA DECLY~RiNG RESULT OF ELECTION IN "GLORIETTA ADDITION"
<br />
<br /> WHEREAS, a special election was held in that territory known as
<br /> "Glorletta Addition" on Thursday, the 5th day of December, 1929, pursuant to the
<br /> provisions of an Act of the Legislaturs of June 11, 1913, relating to the annex-
<br /> ation of territory to municipalities, and found in the Statutes of 1913,~ Page 587,
<br /> as subsequently amended, at which election there was submitted th~ question of
<br /> whether said new territory hereinafter described should be annexed to, incorporate¢
<br /> in and made a part of the City of Santa Aha; and
<br />
<br /> WHEREAS, notice of said election w~s given by publication, in the time,
<br /> form and manner as required by said Act, as appears from the affidavit of
<br /> ~aurine E. Arguello of the Orange Daily News on file with the City Clerk; and
<br />
<br /> WHEREAS, it appears that said special election was held in accordance
<br /> with law. and said notice on Thursday, the 5th day of December, 1929, and that the
<br /> polls for said election were kept open during the time required by law, to-wit,
<br /> from six o~clock A.M. to seven o~clock P.M. of said day, and that said special
<br /> election was held and conducted, and the votes received and canvassed, and the
<br /> result thereof determined and declared, in the time, form and manner required by
<br /> law; and
<br />
<br /> WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Santa Aha did on Monday, the
<br /> 9th day of December, 1929, being the time provided for its regular meeting next
<br /> after the expiration of three (3) days from and after the date of said election,
<br /> meet and proceed to canvass the returns of said special election as required by law
<br />
<br /> WHEREUPON, the result of said canvass having been found to be as herein-
<br /> after stated;
<br />
<br /> The City Council of the City of Santa Aha do ordain as follows:
<br />
<br /> 1. That the new territory proposed to be annexed to said City of Santa
<br />Ana as aforesaid is particularly described as follows, to-wit:
<br />
<br /> Situated in the County of Orange, State of California, and part-
<br /> icularly described as follows, to-wit:
<br /> Beginning at the intersection of the center line of ~ain Street
<br /> with the center line of Delhi Road, said point being a poznt on the
<br /> boundary line of the City of Santa Ana, California;'thence Easterly
<br /> along said boundary line and along the center line of Delhi Road to
<br /> an intersection with the Nor$~aerly extended Easterly line of Emmett's
<br /> Addition as per map thereof on file in Miscellaneous Maps, Book 8,
<br /> Page 13, Records of Orange County, California; thence Southerly along
<br /> the Northerly extended Easterly line and along the Easterly line of
<br /> said Emmett's Addition to an intersection with the Northerly line of
<br /> the Pacific Electric Railway Company's right of way; thence Southerly
<br /> in a direct line to the Northeasterly corner of Emmett~s Addition No. 3,
<br /> as per map thereof on file in Miscellaneous Maps, Book 8, Page 55
<br /> Records of Orange County, California; thence Southerly along the Easterly
<br /> line of said En~aett~s Addition No. 3, and along the Southerly extension
<br /> of said line to an intersection with the center line of Dyer Road;
<br /> thence Westerly along the center line of Dyer Road to an intersection
<br /> with the center line of Main Street; thence Northerly along the center
<br /> line of Main Street to the point of beginning.

<br /> 2. That there was but one election precinct established and provided
<br />for the holding%said special election, the boundaries of which were the boundarl
<br />of said territory.
<br />
<br /> 3. That the whole number of votes cast upon said pr~position in the
<br />territory to be annexed as aforesaid was Twenty-seven, and the number of votes cast
<br />therein in favor of annexation was Seventeen, and the number of votes cast therein
<br />
