0RDLNANCE NO. <br /> <br /> AN ORDINANCE ~DING ORDINANCE NO. 861 REGULATING PEDDLES <br /> AND ITINERANT VENDORS IN ~HE CITY OF SANTA ANA, AND PRO- <br /> VIDING A PE~ALTYFOR ~KEVIOLATION ~REOF. <br /> <br /> ~he City Council of the City of Santa Aha do ordain as follows: <br /> <br /> Section 1. ~nat Section 1 cf Ordinance No. 861 is hereby amended to <br />reed as follows: <br /> <br /> "Section t. That it shall be unlawful for any person, firm or corp- <br />oration, either directly or by agent, to hawk, peddle or sell goods, wares or <br />merchandise~, or any article of personal property upon any street or sidewalk <br />within the business district of said City, including that territox'ybounded on <br />the North by Sixth Street, on the South by First Street, on the East by F~ench <br />Street and on the West by Ross Street, and including the said streets mentioned, <br />or within one block of any public school; provided that this Ordinance shall not <br />apply to the sale f~om truck or vehicle of f~uits or vegetables at wholesale by <br />fAl-mers or other persons selling the same at wholesale to merchants within said <br />territory having regularly established places of business, and who retail such <br />mercha~adise therein." <br /> <br /> Section 2. That all pastry and sandwiches sold at retail from any <br />vehicle in said City shall be wrapped in paper or other material satisfactory to <br />the Health Department of said City, and the manner of b~dling and selling of <br />said~d stuffs shall conform to the rules and regulations prescribed by the <br />Health Department. of said City. <br /> <br /> Section 3. That any person, firm or corporation who shall violate any <br />of the provisions of this ordinance shall be guilty of a misdemeanor, and upon <br />conviction thereof shall be punishable by a fine of not more than Fifty Dollars <br />($80.00), or by imprisonment in the County Jail of' the County of Orange for not <br />more than thirty (30) days, or by bothsuch fine and imprisonment. <br /> <br /> . Section 4. ThAt all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict <br />with the provisions of this ordinance shall be and the same are to that extent <br />hereby repealed. <br /> <br /> Section 8. That the City Clerk shall certify to the passage of this <br />0~dinance and cause the same to be published three times in the Santa Ana Daily <br />Evening Register, a daily newspapsr printed and published in the City of Santa <br />AhA, and thirty (30) days after its final passage said ordinance shall take <br />effect and be in force. <br /> <br /> The above ordinance is approved this 17th day of November, 1930. <br /> <br />ATTEST: <br /> <br /> E.
