0RDINANC~ NO. 1309 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CITY ORDINANCE NO. 1076 ENTITLED "AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING RULES GOYs~ING THE PROCEDURE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA" AND REPEALING CITY ORDINANCE NO. 1248 THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA DOES 0RDAINASFOLLOWS: Sect!on 1: That City Ordinance Number 1076 entitled "AN OR- DINANCE ESTABLISHING RULES GOVERNING THE PROCEDURE OF THE CITY COUN- CIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA" is hereby amended by amending Section 1 thereof to read as follows: "Se.~tion 1: The newly elected City Council shall convene at their first meeting on the Tuesday after the general municipal election or a special election at which Officers were elected and choose one of its number as Mayor of the City. The City Clerk shall receive and put the motion to elect such Mayor, who shall immediately become the presiding officer of the City Council." Section 2: That said Ordinance Number 1076 is hereby amended by amending Section 2 thereof to read as follows: "Section 2: The regular meetings of the City Council of the City of Santa Ann shall be held on the let and 3rd Thursdays of each month and shall convene at the hour of 1:00 o'clock P.M. In event any such Thursday is a legal holiday, the City Council shall convene at the same hour on the let day thereafter which is not a legal holiday." Section 3: That City Ordinance No. 1248 be and the same is hereby repealed. Section 4: The City Clerk shall certify to the passage of this Ordinance and shall cause the same to be published in three consecutive issues of the Santa Aha Independent, a newspaper of general circula- tion printed, published and circulated in the City of Santa Ana on Friday of each week which said newspaper is hereby designated for that purpose. This Ordinance shall take effect thirty (30) days from and after its adoption.
