Ream <br />City Manager <br />City of Santa Ana <br />20 Civic Center Plaza <br />Santa Ana, California 92702 <br />Dear Mr. Ream: <br />The Ferguson Group, LLC (TFG) appreciates the opportunity to provide Washington <br />representation services to the City of Santa Ana. We respectfully request the renewal of Our <br />current agreement Linder the same terms and conditions as provided for in our existing contract, <br />which is Currently $75,000 for the contract period July 1, 2009 to June 30, 2010. <br />Over the years, TFG has worked aggressively to assist the City of Santa Ana, CA in achieving its <br />federal goals and objectives. At the direction of the City, we provided information and guidance <br />on various issues (i.e. community and economic development, homeland security, workforce <br />development, and transportation), and we have worked with the City and your congressional <br />delegation to secure millions of dollars on projects such as water infrastructure improvements, <br />roadway improvements, job training, and other community and economic development related <br />projects, In FY 2009, TFG worked to secure $714,000 in Department of Labor funds for <br />employment and job training services in the City. <br />TFG kept the City abreast of developments regarding the American Recovery and Reinvestment <br />Act (ARRA) legislation signed into law earlier this year and provided a comprehensive analysis <br />of the bill, including details on the majority of programs funded by this legislation. TFG is <br />working with the City to navigate through the process of how stimulus monies made available <br />through ARRA will flow and provide advanced information on program criteria, deadlines, and <br />in some cases the application for funding, For fiscal year (FY) 2010 appropriations, TFG is <br />working to Secure: <br />• $1,093,380 in EPA funding to rehabilitate the sewer main in the French Park <br />Neighborhood; and <br />• $1,000,000 in HUD funding for improvements to the Dan Young Soccer Complex - <br />Sy <br />nthetic Sports Field at Centennial Park. <br />We are also working in part with the Orange County Transportation Authority to secure funding <br />authorizations in the surface transportation authorization bill for the Bristol Street Widening and <br />the Santa Ana Fixed Guideway projects in the City. <br />
