307 <br />cls90700 <br />RESOLUTION NO 2000062 <br />THE RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF SANTA ANA ESTABLISHING THE SOUTH METRO <br />PERMIT PARKING DISTRICT <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA AS <br />FOLLOWS <br />SECTION 1 The City Council of the City of Santa Ana hereby finds determines <br />and declares as follows <br />Section 22507 of the Vehicle Code of the State of California authorizes a city <br />to prohibit stopping parking or standing of vehicles on certain streets and to <br />establish a permit system exempting residents merchants and guests from <br />the prohibition <br />Pursuant to Article XI commencing with Section 36480 of Chapter 36 of <br />the Santa Ana Municipal Code hereinafter Article xr the City Council of <br />the City of Santa Ana is authorized to adopt a resolution establishing Permit <br />Parking Districts wherein parking restrictions apply to all vehicles except <br />vehicles which have been issued parking permits pursuant to said Article <br />C The South Metro residential neighborhood is in need of parking restrictions <br />to protect its integrity from the intrusion of vehicular parking incidental to <br />commercial and governmental activities to allow for adequate emergency <br />vehicle access to counter the visually blighting effect of highly intensive on <br />street parking and to discourage overcrowding of dwelling units <br />SECTION 2 The South Metro Permit Parking District is hereby established to <br />consist of that area of the City of Santa Ana generally bounded on the north by Warner <br />Avenue on the east by Bristol Street on the south by Sunflower Avenue and City limits <br />and on the west by Fairview Street as more particularly depicted in Exhibit 1 attached <br />hereto and incorporated herein by reference <br />SECTION 3 The parking restrictions imposed pursuant to Article Xl and this <br />Resolution shall apply to any block within the South Metro Permit Parking District only <br />after a petition signed by the owners of sixtysix percent 66 or more of the residential <br />lots abutting such block have filed a petition with the Executive Director of the Public <br />Works Agency expressing their desire for such parking restrictions and after signs <br />indicating the parking restrictions on such block have been erected in accordance with <br />Article XI <br />SECTION 4 No person shall park any vehicle at any time on any portion of any <br />street within the South Metro Permit Parking District as to which signs have been erected <br />Resolution No 2000062 <br />Page 1 of 3 <br />  <br />  <br />City Council 22 – 1125 9/17/2024
