It also reduces commute times, improves local social, cultural and family involvement, provides a more attractive work/life balance to residents, and generates savings to local public agencies in terms of the need to construct and maintain new road improvements and other facilities. As reflected in Table 4 and Figure 4, the City’s current ratio of jobs within the City as compared with the number of housing units Citywide is 1.725, as compared with a Statewide average of 1.260. The addition of 1,586 new jobs through the construction of the Project would decrease the jobs/housing ratio modestly to 1.664, as the 3,750 new housing units incorporated in the Project are greater than the 1,586 permanent recurring jobs to be generated by the Project. As noted previously, the Related EIA did not evaluate the permanent recurring economic impacts of the Project, so no comparison with the DTA EIA was necessary.
