Related Bristol Specific Plan Project <br />Mitigation Monitoring and Reporting Program <br />Responsible for <br />Standard Condition/ Plan, Program, Policy / Mitigation Measure/ <br />Ensuring Compliance / <br />Date Completed and <br />Condition of Approval <br />Timing <br />Verification <br />Initials <br />If the discovery proves to be significant, the long-term disposition of any <br />collected materials should be determined in consultation with the affiliated <br />tribe(s), where relevant; this could include curation with a recognized scientific <br />or educational repository, transfer to the tribe, or respectful reinternment in <br />an area designated by the tribe. <br />Mitigation Measure CR-1: If a resource is determined significant, the Project <br />Prior to initiation of <br />City of Santa Ana Building <br />Applicant, qualified archaeologist, and tribal monitors (as included in MM <br />grading ground- <br />Safety Division <br />TCR-1) Native American tribal representative shall meet and confer <br />disturbing activities <br />regarding the treatment measures and mitigation for such resources. Pursuant <br />to PRC Section 21083.2(b), avoidance is the preferred method of <br />preservation for archaeological resources and may include deeding <br />archaeological resources into permanent conservation easements or planning <br />parks, greenspace, or other open space to incorporate archaeological <br />resources. If preservation in place or avoidance is not feasible, treatment may <br />include implementation of archaeological data recovery excavations to <br />remove the resource along with subsequent laboratory processing and <br />analysis of the artifacts that are recovered. The methods and results of the <br />data recovery excavations shall be included in the monitoring report that is <br />described in MM CR-2. The report shall include a description of resources <br />recovered, treatment of the resources, results of the artifact processing, <br />analysis, and research, and evaluation of the resources with respect to the <br />California Register of Historical Resources and CEQA. Construction activities <br />in the immediate vicinity of the discovery can resume once the fieldwork <br />component of the treatment measures has been implemented.
