6. None of the above. <br />Particular attention to the identification and boundaries of <br />potential historic districts will be paid. <br />It is recommended that the Ad -Hoc Committee be limited to no more <br />that nine participants, with a quorum of five required to make <br />evaluations. Membership in the Committee in excess of this number <br />may impose certain procedural complications that would require <br />additional time to be appended to the contract. It is also <br />recommended that rules for the conduct of the Committee (e.g., <br />definition of a quorum) be established at or before the training <br />meeting by the City in conjunction with the consultant and the <br />Committee. <br />Products: The database will be revised to incorporate the <br />evaluations assigned by the Committee. Two reports, listing <br />evaluated resources by address and by evaluation category, will 'be <br />produced. If requested, a copy of the database floppy disk will be <br />submitted so that 'the City'may update the evaluations after the <br />conclusion of the consultant's contract. <br />Task 2. Revision of "Places of Historical and Architectural <br />significance" Ordinance (Chapter 30 SAMC) <br />2.1. Needs analysis. <br />The consultants will review the existing ordinance and meet with <br />Staff to determine the specific needs of the City. At this time it <br />is understood that these needs may include: <br />a. Re -definition of criteria <br />b. Procedure for designation <br />C. Establishment of a review period and procedure for <br />building permit and demolition permit issuance for <br />designated, ranked, or intact historic structures <br />d. Identification of alternatives to substantive alteration <br />or demolition of historic structures <br />e. Itemization of exemptions to the requirements of the <br />ordinance and a procedure for appeals <br />Product: Compilation of sample ordinances from other communities <br />with pertinent sections highlighted accompanied by an explanatory <br />memorandum. <br />2.2. Draft revised ordinance. <br />Based upon the information acquired from Task 2.1, the consultants <br />`1-1 4 <br />
