SECTION 1 ':' SYSTEM L_ 'CRIPTION/PERFORMANCE <br />.• Communication link <br />♦ Modems <br />•:• Field devices <br />e Vehicular Radio Modems (VRM600) <br />1.1.2.1.1 Radio Network Controller <br />The RNC 3000 is the hub of the City of Santa Ana Police Department wireless data <br />communications system. The RNC 3000 controls the routing of data messages from <br />the host computer to the field devices via the radio network. The RNC 3000 provides <br />the following functions: <br />•3 TCP/IP host link connectivity <br />Logical RF message segmentation and recompilation <br />❖ Packet retransmission <br />Data Base Station transmitter control <br />Network management <br />The RNC supports network management through radio system statistics and alarms <br />accessible to the host via various message types, a control interface, and the user <br />console. The RNC can collect information on the following statistics: <br />•:• Host interface <br />❖ RF interface <br />•3 Base station controller <br />Field devices <br />RNC hardware and software. <br />1.1.2.1.1.1 Radio Network Controller to Base Site Communications Link <br />One, 4-wire, Type 3002, voice -grade, full duplex communications circuit, or <br />equivalent, is required per base site. This circuit is to be supplied by the City of Santa <br />Ana Police Department using leased telephone lines.
