AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF SANTA ANA <br />AND MENTAL HEALTH ASSSOCIATION OF ORANGE COUNTY <br />FOR THE USE OF EMERGENCY SHELTER GRANT FUNDS <br />THIS AGREEMENT, made and entered into this 26_61L, day of <br />cl�� 2000, by and between the City of Santa Ana, a municipal corpora- <br />tion of t e State of California ("CITY") and Mental Health Association of Orange <br />County, a California nonprofit organization ("SUBRECIPIENT"). <br />WITNESSETH <br />Recitals: <br />1 . CITY is the recipient of Emergency Shelter Grant ("ESG") funds from the <br />United States Department of Housing and Urban Development ("HUD") pursuant to <br />the Stewart B. McKinney Homeless Assistance Act: Emergency Shelter Grants Pro- <br />gram 42 USC 11331 et seq. <br />2. CITY has approved the provision of federal funds under the ESG to be <br />used in the operation of an emergency shelter program for the homeless of the City <br />of Santa Ana ("said program"). <br />3. SUBRECIPIENT represents that it has expertise and experience in the pro- <br />vision of emergency shelter programs for the homeless and is willing to use said <br />federal funds to operate said program. <br />4. SUBRECIPIENT agrees to assist homeless individuals and families in ob- <br />taining: <br />a) Appropriate supportive services including, but not limited to, tempo- <br />rary and permanent housing, medical health treatment, mental health treatment, <br />counseling supervision and other services essential for achieving independent living <br />and; <br />b) Other federal, state, local and private assistance available for such in - <br />WHEREFORE, for and in consideration of the respective and mutual cove- <br />nants hereinafter contained and made, and subject to all terms and conditions <br />hereof, the parties hereto do hereby agree as follows: <br />1 <br />
