Ibarra, Evelyn
From: Senior Residents of Metro East <
Sent: Monday, December 16, 2024 8:13 AM
To: eComment
Subject: Anti Encampment Ordinance
Attention: This email originated from outside of City of Santa Ana. Use caution when opening attachments or links.
We support the Anti Encampment Ordinance with this statement:
Homelessness compromises us all. It's not a crime, it is a need that can
be filled by a civilized society recognizing that living on the streets 24/7 is
unhealthy for everyone.
A fair Anti Encampment Ordinance can be the 1st step to Social Services
then full time housing, which we all know is the root of the problem.
For those who fear this restricts personal freedom, remember that we all
must respect some limits on our behavior, especially if it causes damage
to others.
Our homeless problem is growing. Let's take the 1st step and give societal
certainty that it's unacceptable. Filling our temporary shelters can shed
light on the need for more permanent affordable housing that's required
for everyone's benefit.
Don't let the perfect be the enemy of the good. Complex problems are
often solved one step at a time. Please vote for the Anti Encampment
Ordinance as that first step.
Seniors of Metro East
1
