Security Policies and Procedures <br />Virtru <br />5. Keeping control over backup media, as to minimize the possibility of theft or <br />loss <br />6. Ensuring that the transport of these devices is secure and is safe from <br />damage - for example, these devices should only travel in padded containers <br />and should be locked and shut down during transit <br />7. Keeping all operating systems and tools up-to-date, with all updates and <br />patches. Specific requirements for these topics are in the appropriate <br />sections of this document <br />Virtru's devices must not be used by people who are not authorized, including family <br />members and friends. <br />Software loaded onto such devices must follow the rules in the Software section of this <br />document. In general, only approved software may be loaded, and shareware, games <br />and other such software are not permitted. <br />International travel with these devices may require special approvals or configurations, <br />especially in regards to encryption and licensed software. Before traveling <br />internationally, users must contact the ISO to determine if such special considerations <br />exist <br />Connecting these devices to Virtru's networks must follow the rules in the Networks <br />section of this document. In general, all such devices must be approved prior to <br />connecting. <br />Remote access from these devices to Virtru's networks and devices must meet the <br />controls specified in the Networks section of this document. In general, such access <br />must be approved, and must have adequate controls over the security of information in <br />transit. <br />Devices of these types that are owned by contractors, vendors or other third parties <br />must meet all Virtru requirements prior to being connected. <br />C. Asset management <br />The ISO is responsible for maintaining an inventory of devices; as such he shall employ <br />software to aid in the management of hardware and software asset.
