CITY OF SANTA ANA <br /> SPECIFICATIONS <br /> PROJECT NO.: 25-6030 <br /> TRAFFIC SIGNAL INSTALLATION AT SEGERSTROM AVENUE AND ROSEWOOD <br /> AVENUE <br /> 1.00 SPECIAL PROVISIONS - CONSTRUCTION <br /> 1.01 ROCK PRODUCTS <br /> Alternate rock products, asphalt concrete,Portland cement concrete (PCC), and untreated <br /> base material shall be alternate rock material — Type S per Section 400 of the Standard <br /> Specifications. <br /> 1.02 RELATIVE COMPACTION TESTS <br /> The following test methods shall be used for determining relative compaction: <br /> California Test 216 (Sand Cone Method) <br /> California Test 231 (Nuclear Gauge Method) <br /> The Contractor will be provided with compaction test at locations deemed necessary by the <br /> Engineer. If compaction fails to meet the contract specifications,then the Contractor shall <br /> make the necessary adjustments and is responsible for the cost of additional compaction <br /> tests until compaction per the specifications is met. <br /> 1.03 CLEARING AND GRUBBING <br /> Clearing and Grubbing shall be performed in conformance with the provisions of Section <br /> 300-1 of the Standard Specifications and these Special Provisions. <br /> The following is added to Section 300-1.2 Preservation of Property: <br /> Modify and/or repair existing sprinklers in project area that are damaged due to the <br /> Contractor's operation within 24 hours. <br /> 1.04 UNCLASSIFIED EXCAVATION <br /> This section shall conform to Subsection 300-2 and 300-4 of the Standard Specifications <br /> and these Special Provisions. <br /> Unclassified excavation shall consist of all excavation including sawcutting and removal <br /> of roadways,bituminous pavement, concrete pavement,pavement fabric, and the removal <br /> of curbs, sidewalks, driveways, alleys, cross-gutters, dirt, etc. as shown on the plans. <br /> Any cores provided are included in the Appendix for reference purposes only and are not <br /> part of the contract documents. The AGENCY will not be held responsible for existing <br /> conditions that differ from any core logs that may be provided. It is the Contractor's option <br /> to take his/her own core samples to verify the existing conditions. <br /> 28 <br />
