RESOLUTION 69-55 STATING AND DECLARING THE RESULT <br />OF THE CANVASS OF ELECTION RETURNS OF THE GENERAL <br />MUNICIPAL ELECTION HELD IN THE CITY ~F SANTA ANA, <br />CALIFORNIA, ON APRIL 1ST, 1969 <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Santa Ana, by <br />Ordinance NS-956, duly called for and provided for the holding <br />of a General Municipal Election on April 1st, 1969; said election <br />was called to fill vacancies in public offices; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, notice of said Election, notice of nominees for <br />public office, and notice of the election officers and polling <br />places were regularly given in time, form and manner as provided <br />by law; the sample ballots, and the statements submitted by the <br />candidates for public office, were regularly mailed to all electors <br />within the City, and sample ballots were mailed to those electors <br />outside of the City but within the Santa Ana Unified and Junior <br />college Districts; and said Election on said date was duly held at <br />the polling places designated and the votes cast thereat were <br />canvassed and the returns thereof made in the time, manner, and <br />form provided by law; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, on the 8th day of April, 1969, the City Council of <br />the City of Santa Ana has duly assembled at its usual place of <br />meeting, the returns of said Election having been canvassed. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA <br />DOES HEREBY RESOLVE, DETERMINE, AND ORDER AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br /> That the General Municipal Election was duly held on April <br />1st, 1969, and the votes cast thereat were duly and regularly <br />canvassed and the returns thereof made in the time, form, and <br />manner required; that all things were regularly done as required <br />by law; that the absent voter ballots were duly canvassed and <br />counted as required by law and the result of such count is herein- <br />after set forth on Exhibit A attached hereto and made a part here- <br />of; that this City Council has duly canvassed the returns of said <br />Election and from said returns it appears, and this City Council <br />finds, that the total number of votes cast in each precinct for <br />each person, the number of votes given in the City to each person, <br />the whole number of votes cast in the city, and the total number <br />of absentee votes cast in the City and in consolidated voting <br />precinct No. 56 which consisted of two State and County precincts <br />and of School District territory which lies outside of the City <br />Limits of the City of Santa Ana, are as set forth on Exhibit A. <br />attached hereto and made a part hereof. <br /> <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That at said General Municipal <br />Election JERRY M. PATTERSON, residing in WARD ONE, WADE HERRIN, <br />residing in WARD THREE, RAY VILLA, residing in WARD FIVE, and <br />WALTER BROOKS, residing in WARD SEVEN were elected to the office <br />of Member of the City Council for a term of four years: <br /> <br /> That JESSE F. BERRY, CHARLES E. ELERDING, and ROBERT K. <br />HARR were elected to the office of Member of the Board of <br />Education for the term of four years; that RUD¥ MONTEJANO was <br />elected to the office of Member of the Board of Education for <br />the term of two years. <br /> <br /> PASSED AND ADOPTED by the city Council of the City of <br />Santa Ana at its adjourned regular meeting held on the 8th day <br />of April, 1969, for the purpose of declaring the result of the <br /> <br />canvass of the election returns. <br /> <br />ATTEST: <br /> <br />CLERK OF THE COUNCIL <br /> <br />MAYOR <br /> <br /> <br />
