Griswold for permission to use the <br /> property at the southwest corner of King and lSth Streets for con- <br /> struction of a duplex, the entrance to face lSth Street, from Clarence <br /> T. and Barbara Mokelke, owners of property on the northwest corner of <br /> King and lSth Street, favoring the variance, and from the-applicant <br /> setting forth reasons why the property should be developed as duplex <br /> property. On motion of Councilman McBride, seconded by Jerome, a <br /> Resolution to grant the variance where the Planning Commission recom- <br /> mended denial failed to carry by the following vote: <br /> <br /> Ayes, · Councilmen William Jerome, J.L.McBrlde, <br /> Noes, Councilmen Milford W. Dahl, Courtney R. Chandler <br /> Absent, Councilmen Thomas F. Lateen <br /> <br />On motion of Councilman McBride, seconded by Jerome and carried, the <br />matter was continued until the next regular meeting. <br /> <br />~ommunioation of the Planning Commission was read submitting Reso? <br />lutlon No. 7$0 recommending the reclassification of that area bounded <br />on the north by the rear line of lots on the south side of Camile <br />Street, Shelton Street as far south as Richland Street; thence west <br />from the intersection of Richland and Shelton Streets to Baker Street; <br />thence south along Baker Street if extended; thence east from Baker <br />Street to Flower Street along the rear of the lots facing Highland <br />Street; thence north on Flower Street to Richland Street; thence west <br />on Richland Btreet to the corner of the school property; thence north <br />along the west boundary line of the school property to Bishop Street; <br />thence east on Bishop Street to within one lot depth of Flower Street; <br />thence along the rear of such lots to within one lot depth of Camile <br />Street, from the R-1 and R-2 Districts to the R-3 District, in accord- <br />ance with Commission initiated amendment No. 152. On motion of <br />Councilman Dahl, seconded by Jerome and carried, a notice of public <br />hearing was ordered published setting date of hearing as March 21st, <br />1955 ' 1 <br /> <br />Communication was read from H.L.Whitaker, 141b Eazt 15th Street, <br />approving of the action of the Planning Commission in denying the <br />request of Helen A. Gardner etal for reclassification of property <br />situated approximately at the intersection of East Seventeenth and- <br />Wright Streets, from R-1 to the C-1 District.
