Blanding <br /> <br /> seconded by Larsen and carried, ~he following Ordinance entitled: <br /> <br /> "Ordinance declaring the annexation of that <br /> certain ~errit~ry designated 'Eleven=h at <br /> King Annext'' <br /> <br /> was introduced, considered and placed on file for second reading. <br /> # <br /> <br /> This being the date set for hearing on the amendment application of <br /> Helen A. Gardner etal for the reclassification of property situated <br /> approximately at the intersection of E. 17th Street and Wright Streets <br /> from the R-1 to the C-1 District, two persons gave their reasons for <br /> objecting to the rezoning. Jesse OJeda, one of the applicants, <br /> stated that the whole area will eventually become business property <br /> and requested the change of zone. On motion of Councilman McBride, <br /> seconded by Dahl and carried, t/%e recommendation of the Planning <br /> Commission was approved and ~he request for the reclassification from <br /> R-1 to t~he C-1 District, was denied. <br /> <br />This being the date set for hearing on the Commission initiated amend- <br />ment application No. 142; no protests were received against the <br />reclassification of property transversed by Bishop, bounded by Camile, <br />Richland and Highland. Streets~ from the R-1 and R-2 Districts to the <br />R-3 District. On mo~ion of Councilman Dahl, seconded by Larsen and <br />carried, the following Ordinance entitled: <br /> <br /> "Ordinance amending Article IX of the Santa Aha <br /> Municipal Code crea~ing changes in district <br /> boundaries and amending Sheet No. 34 of the <br /> Districting Map to show the reclassification" <br /> <br />was introduced, considered and placed on file for second reading. <br />The tabulation of bids was submitted for the furnishing of 1,000 5~8" <br />x 3/4" and 50 l" water meters, in accordance with Specification No. <br />665-2, as follows: <br /> <br />Worthington-Gamon Meter Division in the total amount of $24,944.00. <br />Terms: Net 30 days. <br />Mission Pipe & Supply Company, in the total amount of $27,043.50. <br /> <br />Horsey Manufacturing Company, in the total amount of $27,187.50. <br />Ter~ns: Net 30 days. <br />On motion of Councilman Larsen, seconded by Dahl and carried, the <br /> <br />recommendation of the committee was approved and the bid of Worthington- <br />Gamon Me,er Division, in the total sum of $24,944.00 was accepted and <br /> <br />the other bids rejected. <br />. <br />On motion of Councilman McBride, seconded by Jerome and carried, the <br />request of Luminart Neon Company to construct an electric post sign on <br />property at 1241 W. 17th Street, which would ex~end over and upon the <br />established setback line was denied but permission was granted to place <br /> <br />a sign on the building provided it conforms ~o the sign regulations. <br /># <br /> <br />Communication was read from the Planning Commission recommending that <br />a variance be granted to permit Arthur M. Blanding to use the property <br />at the northeast corner of Wilshire Avenue at Sycamore Street, for the <br />growing and storing of shrubs and trees, in cans. David Clauson, <br />1240 South Sycamore and Mr. McCollum, 1246 South Sycamore objected to <br />the granting of the variance due to the unsightly existing condition. <br />On motion of Councilman Larsen, seconded by Jerome and carried, action <br />was deferred until the next regular meeting and Mr. Blanding requested <br />to at~end. <br /> <br /> <br />
