Sec. 8-2600. Adoption by reference. <br /> <br /> There is adopted by the city that certain code known as the International <br />Association of Plumbing and Mechanical Officials Uniform Swimming Pool, Spa and Hot <br />Tub Code, 1997 Edition, save and except that portion entitled "Part I, Administrative" <br />(hereinafter referred to in this article as the "Uniform Swimming Pool, Spa and Hot Tub <br />Code"). The Uniform Swimming Pool, Spa and Hot Tub Code is adopted and <br />incorporated by reference as though fully set forth at length herein as provided for in <br />section 419 of the Charter of the city, except for the changes to the Uniform Swimming <br />Pool, Spa and Hot Tub Code set forth in this chapter of the Santa Aha Municipal Code <br />that specifically amend the Uniform Swimming Pool, Spa and Hot Tub Code. Any <br />previously enacted, unrepealed provision of the Santa Ana Municipal Code that <br />amended a pre-1998 Edition of the Uniform Swimming Pool, Spa and Hot Tub Code <br />shall also be construed as amending the applicable provision of the 1998 or later <br />Edition of the Uniform Swimming Pool, Spa and Hot Tub Code. The Uniform Swimming <br />Pool, Spa and Hot Tub Code, as amended, together with all other provisions of this <br />article, shall be known as the City of Santa Aha Swimming Pool, Spa and Hot Tub <br />Code. <br /> <br /> SECTION 69: That section 8-2701 of the Santa Ana Municipal Code is hereby <br />amended such that it reads as follows (new language in bold, deleted language in <br />strikeout for tracking purposes only): <br /> <br />Sec. 8-2701. Alternative standards. <br /> <br />(a) Exits. <br /> <br />(1) The occupant load of a live/work space shall be based upon one <br />(1) occupant per three hundred (300) square feet. Two (2) exits shall be <br />required from each space when the occupant load exceeds ten (10) <br />people. <br /> <br />(2) Each live/work space above the second floor shall have access to <br />two (2) stairway exits. An existing fire escape may be used as one (1) of <br />the required exits, provided it complies with California Building Code <br />Appendix Chapter 34. An operational test performed by the fire <br />department is required prior to occupancy by any tenant. <br /> <br />(3) Mezzanine areas with more than two thousand (2,000) square feet <br />require two (2) exits. <br /> <br />(4) The emergency egress from sleeping rooms, as required by <br />California Building Code section 310.4, may be provided from openings <br />located in the working space of a live/work unit, provided that the spaces <br />are contiguous and located on the same story. <br /> <br />Ordinance No. NS-2522 <br /> Page 35 of 47 <br /> <br /> <br />
