The City of Santa Ana
needs to comply by April 2026.
This scope outlines the initial work (Phase 1) involved to:
• Understand the law and what needs to happen
• Audit and assess the scale of the work
• Educate and build awareness throughout the organization
• Get started on department implementation
For most departments, this will require changing the way they manage content. It
may require adherence to new content policies and standards.
Key elements to the long term success of this work are accountability and
momentum. The sooner we get started on this work and the sooner we build
momentum, the more effective and efficient we can be.
We've proposed a framework for educating and working with each department
individually. In this way, we can address their specific content challenges and needs.
We also believe this will result in the highest level of engagement, empowerment,
and accountability. This work will begin in Phase 1, but a phase 2 scope will be
needed in order to work with each department.
Santa Ana Quote: Web accessibility planning and strategy - 2
