Moat <br />arterief roadways have been conatructed to these stMdards. The functional <br />daaaifioations serve to categodø roadways baaed upon their use. The City <br />does not intend to Widen all roadways in the City to the ctOsHeCtlon <br />standards rner&Iy to conform with the standard, but 8' travel demand and <br />congestion warrant such widening.. <br /> <br />Each arterial eoadway is aseIgned to one of the following five functional <br />cIas8iftcations: <br /> <br />. Ptinclpal Attørlal- Typically, an eight-lane, divided roadway designed to <br />accommodate between 45,000 to 67.500 vehicle trip$ daily. The 1WIœI <br />right of way width is 144 feet. <br /> <br />. Major Arterial- Generally consists of six-travel lanes, and is also divided. <br />Typicaly. the right-of-way width for this type of roadway is 120 feet. A <br />major arterial ia designed to accommodate between 33.900 and 50,600 <br />vehicte trips daily. <br /> <br />.. <br /> <br />PrImary Arterial- Generaly conli8tl of a four-lane. divided roadway. <br />Typically. the right-of-way width is 100 feet. A primary arterial is <br />designed to accommodate between 22.500 and 33,800 vehicle trips <br />daily. <br /> <br />. > Secondary Arteria/- Generally a four-lane. undivided roadway. The <br />typical right-of-way width for this category of roadway is 80 feet. A <br />secondary arterial is typk:aøy designed to accommodate between 15,000 <br />and 22,500 vehicfe trips daly. <br /> <br />. Commuter Street - A two-Iane. undivided roadway carrying'ess than <br />10,000 vehicle trips per day. The right-ofway width for this roadway <br />classification is 60 feet. CoIIedors are also two-Iane undivided roadways <br />with a right-of-way width of 58 feet. . <br /> <br />. Local Commercial Street.. A twcMane. undivided roadway canyfng up to <br />6,000 vehicle trip8 per day. Palking may be allowed on both sides of the <br />street, businesses are located on both sides of the....t.
