The new
campus design is the result of a multi-year collaborative research and planning process
between a broad team of experts from a broad array of disciplines including the medical,
nursing and engineering fields. Of utmost importance to the team was ease of access,
clustering of medical services, welcoming interiors, and the integration of technological
advances. The new hospital site is located in Santa Monica, on the Westside of Los Angetes,
California.

The project will be completed in two phases with Phase One, valued at Sl.5M, taking place
from Juty 2002 through May 2003 and Phase Two beginning in 2005. The existing Saint John's
Heatth Center will remain open and fully operational throughout construction.

I
I
I
I

To ensure that the new hospital's office and proprietary healthcare applications were
supported well into the future, a Category 6 Avaya SYSTIMAX Structured Connectivity Solution
was chosen. After Phase One, Pacific Coast Cabling will have installed 4,000 circuits, 2400-pair
copper connections and a 12- and 24-strand fiber backbone to the existing data center.
Additionally, we will have connected 100-pair copper and 12-strand LazrSPEED multimode fiber
to the IDFs for a totat of 1,032 strands, or 8612-strands. Pacific Coast Cabling used Avaya's
2071 Category 6 cable in the horizontal. SYSTIMAX LazrSPEED Solution offers a cost-effective,
low risk route to reliable LAN communications in the Gb/s range. To further reduce total cost
of ownership, the LazrSPEED Solution is backward compatible with legacy LAN applications.
