<br />2.10.1. Testing personnel shall be competent in and qualified by experience or <br />training for detailed design, installation and testing of telephone, data, and <br />fiber cabling systems. <br /> <br />2.10.2. Provide all required testing instruments and pay all costs for testing and <br />for any resulting repair or replacement. <br /> <br />2.10.3. Fiber pre-installation testing: <br /> <br />2.10.3.1. Confirm fiber cable media supplied is as specified and has no <br />dysfunctional fibers by performing, on reel, OTDR testing before <br />installation of fiber. Prepare a type written report of test results for <br />inclusion in project records. <br /> <br />2.10.4. Provide test record documentation as specified herein. <br /> <br />2.10.5. Upon completion of the project, and as a condition for acceptance, vendor <br />shall do the following: <br /> <br />2.10.5.1. <br /> <br />Copper media cables: <br /> <br />2.10.5.1.1. Test all backbone copper pair media cables for opens, shorts, <br />polarity, reversals of pair wires, and correct pin/pair assignment. <br />Provide electronic and/or hard copy of the test results. <br /> <br />2.10.5.1.2. Use a hand held, UTP cable plant tester, such as those <br />manufactured by Microtest Inc., Fluke Inc. or equivalent, which is <br />capable of producing a hard copy, and an electronic copy (via <br />vendor/supplier supplied free viewing software) of test result <br />documentation to test the horizontal work area cable plant. <br />Comply with the following: <br /> <br />2.1 0.5.1.2.1. The test certification equipment used must at a <br />minimum perform the following tests consistent with <br />parameters defined by TSB-67: <br /> <br />2.10.5.1.2.1.1. Wire Map <br /> <br />2.10.5.1.2.1.2. Length <br /> <br />2.10.5.1.2.1.3. Attenuation <br /> <br />2.10.5.1.2.1.4. Near-end Crosstalk (NEXT) <br /> <br />2.10.5.1.3. Adjust, repair, and/or replace defective material and equipment. <br /> <br />Page 17 of 24 <br /> <br />
