Becerra, Alexis
From:Jimmy Cabral <jcabral@gmail.com>
Sent:Tuesday, March
To:eComment
Cc:Lopez, Jessie
Subject:City Council meeting – agenda item 16
Attention: This email originated from outside of City of Santa Ana. Use caution when opening attachments or links.
Dear Council-member Lopez,

I am writing to express my concern about the last-minute addition of the parking meter
rate increase to tonight’s City Council agenda. The item was placed on the agenda last
Friday afternoon, which does not allow for sufficient public notice, comment, or analysis.

Rushed decisions, especially those that impact residents financially, undermine
transparency and public trust. The community deserves a clear explanation of why this
increase is necessary, how the additional revenue will be used, and what alternatives, if
any, have been considered. At this point, none of these critical questions have been
answered.

I urge you to either oppose this measure until the public has had an opportunity to review
and weigh in on it or request that it be postponed for proper discussion. Residents should
not be blindsided by last-minute proposals that could have a direct financial impact on
them.

Please let me know your position on this issue and whether you will advocate for greater
transparency in this process.

Thank you for your time.
1
