<br />Attachment A <br /> <br />Part One - Grant Overview <br /> <br />Purpose oHbis The federal Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has provided funding to <br />Grant California's Office of Homeland Security (OHS) through the Fiscal Year <br />2004 Urban Areas Security Initiative (FY04 UASI). This grant provides <br />funds to: <br /> <br />. address the unique planning, equipment, training and exercise needs of <br />large urban areas; <br />. assist urban areas in building an enhanced and sustainable capacity to <br />prevent, respond to and recover from threats or acts of terrorism; and, <br />. assist identified mass transit authorities in the protection of critical <br />infrastructure and emergency preparedness activities. <br /> <br />Eligible Grant <br />Recipients <br /> <br />The following 10 urban areas (core cities) and six transit agencies are eligible <br />to apply for this grant: <br /> <br />Urban Areas <br /> <br />1. Los Angeles <br />2. San Francisco <br />3. Santa Ana <br />4. Long Beach <br />5. San Diego <br /> <br />6. Anaheim <br />7. San Jose <br />8. Sacramento <br />9. Oakland <br />10. Fresno <br /> <br />Transit Allencies <br /> <br />I. Los Angeles Metrolink <br />2. San Francisco Bay Area Rapid Transit District (BART) <br />3. San Francisco Caltrain <br />4. San Jose Altamont Commuter Express (ACE) <br />5. Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority <br />6. San Diego Coaster <br /> <br />Purpose of this <br />Grant Guide <br /> <br />This Grant Guide will provide grant recipients, and any designated agencies, <br />with guidance and forms to apply for, perform and closeout the FY04 UASI <br />grant.
