Councilmember McGuigan informed Council that there would be an <br />All-America City celebration on July 4 at the Santa Ana Stadium. <br /> <br />Councilmember Acosta inquired as to wt~t could be done about children <br />running around in the lobby of City Hall, as a result of the move of the <br />Housing Authority to the first floor. The City Manager stated that he <br />would investigate this problem. <br /> <br />Councilmember Acosta expressed his concerns regarding weed abatement, <br />particularly at the southwest corner of Chestnut and Main. The City <br />Manager stated there was an ongoing program to maintain properties, and <br />that interim maintenance costs would be charged to Redevelopment <br />projects. <br /> <br />Councilmember Acosta also inquired as to the turnaround time for paying <br />merchants, and as to the possibility of charging a non-refundable fee <br />for plans and specifications. He requested that the City Attorney <br />prepare a document for Public Works delineating the difference between <br />an "A" and a "B" license, and describing the law covering Public Works <br />jobs. <br /> <br />Councilmember Griset reported on a National League of Cities meeting he <br />attended in Washington, D.C. <br /> <br />Councilmember Johnson requested that the Delhi project be placed on the <br />Council l~ferral list. He stated that he would like updates on items on <br />the Council Referral list, and more description regarding the <br />referrals. <br /> <br />Councilmember Johnson stated that the would like the Architectural <br />Review Board reinstated, and its authority expanded, and brought back on <br />at the next Council meeting. <br /> <br />Councilmember Bricken stated that he was unclear as to the Police <br />Department's position on enforcement of certain "housekeeping" <br />ordinances, e.g., parking on lawns. He also inquired as to the status <br />of assessment districts for street light maintenance. Councilmember <br />Bricken stated that he would like to see stricter enforcement of <br />business license fee collection. He also stated that he would pay for <br />replacement of the public microphone in the Council Chambers. <br /> <br />At 11:54 p.m., the Council recessed to Executive Session, and reconvened <br />in the Council Chambers at 12:28 a.m., with all members present. <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL MINUTES 181 JUNE 6, 1983 <br /> <br /> <br />
