Criteria pollutants include Ozone (03), Carbon Monoxide (CO), Nitrogen Dioxide (N02), Sulfur Dioxide (S02), and Particulate Matter (PMI0). The South Coast Air Basin is currently a non-attainment area for Carbon Monoxide, Ozone and Particulate Matter. The SCAQMD considers an air quality impact to be significant if it exceeds the criteria pollutant thresholds identified in the Table A-I. A relatively minor amount of gaseous emissions would also occur from natural gas and electricity usage. The proposed project is consistent with the General Plan. The long-term operational emissions generated by the proposed project would be consistent with the air pollutant emissions projected within the General Plan Land Use Element EIR. Additionally, the proposed project would be developed at a level of intensity that would be less than maximum allowable intensity under the General Plan. Therefore, long-term air quali ty emissions generated by the proposed proj ect would be less that what was proj ected for in the General Plan Land Use Element EIR.
