<br />ARTICLE I <br /> <br />1.0 RECOGNITION <br /> <br />1.1 Pursuant to the provision of the Meyers-Milias-Brown Act, <br />Government Code Section 3500, et seg., the City of Santa Ana <br />(hereinafter called the "City") has recognized the Santa Ana <br />Police Officers Association (herein called the <br />"Association") as the recognized representative of the <br />bargaining unit which includes police department employees <br />in the sworn, "safety-member" classifications and <br />assignments of Police Officer, Senior Police Officer, Police <br />Sergeant, Senior Police Sergeant and in the non-sworn, <br />"miscellaneous-member" classifications and assignments of <br />Animal Service Officer I and II, Background Investigator, <br />Communications Services Officer, Crime Research Analyst, <br />DARE Officer, Darkroom Technician, Detention Officer, <br />Firearms Examiner, Forensic Specialist I and II, Forensic <br />Services Supervisor, Parking Control Officer, Police <br />Communications Supervisor, Police Community Services <br />Specialist, Police Evidence and Supply Specialist, Police <br />Investigative Specialist, Police Property and Evidence <br />Specialist, Police Property and Evidence Supervisor, Police <br />Recruit, Police Service Assistant, Police Service Officer, <br />Police Services Dispatcher, Rangemaster, Detention <br />Supervisor, Senior Parking Control Officer, and Traffic <br />Services Specialist and excludes all other employees of the <br />Police Department. <br /> <br />3 <br />
