Program Specific Information, Continued <br /> <br />Training <br />Target <br />Audience and <br />Subjects <br /> <br />Approval and <br />Reporting of <br />Non-ODP <br />Sponsored <br />Training <br /> <br />The target audience for training courses funded must be emergency <br />preparedness, prevention and response personnel, emergency managers and <br />publiclelected officials within the following disciplines: <br /> <br />. firefighting <br />. law enforcement <br />. emergency management <br />. hazardous materials <br />. public works <br />. public health <br /> <br />. health care <br />. emergency medical services <br />. public safety communications <br />. governmental administrative <br />. cyber security <br />. private security providers <br /> <br />Awareness training for citizen preparedness is also allowable. <br /> <br />See Appendix B, Training Classes and Approval Process, for ODP awareness <br />and performance level courses that grant recipients are encouraged to adopt, <br />and recommended subjects for other eligible courses. <br /> <br />Grant recipients who wish to use grant funds to support attendance at and/or <br />development of non-ODP sponsored training, must receive approval from the <br />state prior to using funds for non-ODP sponsored training. See Appendix B, <br />Training Classes and Approval Process, for the process to obtain approval of <br />non-ODP sponsored training. <br /> <br />Grant recipient using these funds to develop their own courses should address <br />the critical training areas and gaps identified in the Urban Area Homeland <br />Security Strategy or the Transit Security and Emergency Preparedness Plan. <br /> <br />Grant recipients using funds to develop courses or to attend non-ODP courses <br />will be required to report the number of individuals trained, by discipline and <br />course level, in their performance reports. <br /> <br />Continued on next page <br /> <br />Page 23 <br /> <br />FY04 Urban Areas Security Initiative <br />
