IV. DESCRIPTION OF WORK <br />During the 12 month period, four hundred (400) low-income children and youth from <br />Santa Ana will be provided excellent dance training, and 300 will receive the <br />opportunity to appear in the Annual World Fusion Dance Concert in 2006. Services <br />provided are health & nutritional classes for parents, etiquette and communication <br />skills for students, exercises, dance techniques and choreographies. In addition, 50 <br />students will be selected for the World Fusion Youth Ensemble. They will receive 6 <br />additional classes at no fee. These students will be trained to learn European, <br />Middle Eastern, Indian, Chinese, Hawaiian, Brazilian, Mexican, African, and <br />American (Hip Hop) contemporary folklore dances. <br />In addition, the program also consists of the Examination/Certification program. In <br />this program 40 Cecchetti Ballet students will take their exams April 2007 and 20 <br />Capoeria students will take their exams June 2007. The ballets students will be <br />examined under the Cecchetti Society of America and the capoeira students under <br />Capoeira Batuque. Students will then be given a certificate when passing their <br />exams and promoted to the next higher level. <br />Students funded for these programs are of extremely low to low-income levels and <br />live in Santa Ana. The $5,000 will be used as follows: $3,000 to pay for ensemble <br />instructors, $1,800 to pay for Examinations & workshops and $200 to purchase <br />Chinese costumes for ensemble. <br />
