<br />ARTICLE I <br /> <br />1.0 RECOGNITION <br /> <br />1.1 Pursuant to the provision ofthe Meyers-Milias-Brown Act, Government Code Section 3500, <br />et seQ., the City of Santa Ana (hereinafter called the "City") has recognized the Santa Ana <br />Police Management Association (hereinafter called the "Association") as the recognized <br />representative of the bargaining unit which includes Police Department employees in the <br />classifications of Police Records Manager, Policy Property & Facilities Manager, Police <br />Communications Manager, Police Lieutenant and Police Captain. <br /> <br />Effective February 7, 2005, employees permanently assigned to the position of Police <br />Lieutenant have the "working" title of "Commander" and employees permanently assigned <br />to the position of Police Captain have the "working" title of "Deputy Chief of Police" . <br /> <br />3 <br />
