COMMENTS <br /> <br />90.A. PUBLIC COMMENTS <br /> <br />Adolfo Lopez, Downtown businessman, addressed Council, requesting <br />assistance frmn the City with lighting and decorations for the Downtown <br />business district during the Christmas season. <br /> <br />The Mayor requested staff work with businessmen in the Downtown to develop <br />specifics regarding the request. <br /> <br />James J. Loizos, 1733 W. Lingan Ln., addressed Council, regarding the <br />recent increase in his water meter service charge, and lack of <br />notification regarding the increase. <br /> <br />Ronald Lark-Wallace, 1522 N. Sycamore, expressed co6cern to Council <br />regarding safety problems caused by sidewalk irregularities. <br /> <br />Patricia Mill, 617 S. Starboard, inquired as to whether the 1975 Utility <br />Tax was specifically earmarked for Police pay raises, to which the City <br />Manager responded affirmatively. She also expressed concern that the <br />recent removal of Police patrol from her neighborhood would increase crime. <br /> <br />Councilmember Hart requested staff provide analysis with regard to <br />assignment of more Police to street duty. <br /> <br />Bob Fitzgerald, 330E W. Carriage Drive, complimented staff on the rapid <br />response to his recent call to the Mayor's hotline, but expressed concern <br />regarding the parking problems created by the City's street-sweeping <br />program in his neighborhood. <br /> <br />90.C. CITY COUNCIL COMMENTS <br /> <br />The Mayor requested that staff bring back to Council for further <br />consideration the recent resolution supporting the Auto Club's plan with <br />respect to freeway development. <br /> <br />ADJOURNMENT <br /> <br />At 9:30 p.m., the meeting was adjourned. <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL MINUTES <br /> <br />253 <br /> <br />AUGUST 17, 1987 <br /> <br /> <br />
