While the entire team will support each case, a Counselor will be assigned <br />to the youth based upon the youth's needs. For example, youth with <br />strong job development needs will be assigned to the Counselor/Job <br />Developer. Youth with a multiplicity of case management needs will be <br />assigned to the Counselor/Case Manager. Youth with pressing mental <br />health needs will be assigned to the Project Director/Therapist. Because <br />the entire team will provide onsite group counseling services, CHCADA's <br />continuity requirements will be met. However, all of FUERZAS UN/DAS' <br />counseling team will review the Case Plan and make recommendations <br />regarding the customization of services to respond to the identified needs. <br />During the initial Case Plan review meeting, appropriate service providers <br />will be discussed and selected based upon the youth's needs. The <br />counselor will meet each selected service provider and make <br />arrangements for the youth's inclusion in the selected program of services. <br />Regular verbal and written feedback will be provided to the counselor <br />regarding the youth. <br />n Placement in Jobs or Continuing Education - In spite of the emphasis <br />upon skills rather than education triggered by the technological revolution, <br />education remains the primary engine and conduit for economic <br />advancement. Thus, immediately reconnecting the youth to an educational <br />institution as well as to training will be a primary service that each <br />counselor will complete. However, CHCADA is also aware of the high <br />incidence of the working poor that characterized the families of a number <br />of the youth who will participate in this program. Observing the <br />experiences of their parents can lead the youth to lose confidence in the <br />ability of mainstream economic institutions to address their material <br />needs. Thus, whether enrolling the youth into a community school and/or <br />a vocational program, the Counselor will meet with each youth on a <br />regular basis. Then, using occupation projections from the Department of <br />Labor, they will assist the youth in selecting potential careers in <br />occupational areas that can, even during periods of economic decline, <br />ultimately provide them with an above-poverty lifestyle. <br />CHCADA's Counselor/Job Developer and Counselor/Case Manager will <br />work together to ensure that all youth access employment, training, and/or <br />postsecondary education through the Youth Provider Network and <br />participating employers. The Counselor will go to a school or employer <br />with the youth and make all arrangements for the youth's enrollment <br />and/or hiring.
