RECONVENED - COUNCIL CHAMBERS - 7:45 P.M. - All Councilmembers present. <br /> <br />COMMENTS <br /> <br />90.A. <br /> <br />PUBLIC COMMENTS <br /> <br />Margaret Fan'is, 15200 S. Magnolia, #43, Westminster, reported she was being harassed by <br />gang members in the Civic Center area and asked the Councilmembers for assistance in <br />stopping the harassment. <br /> <br />Jim Tucker, 2062 S. Rene, Human Relations Commission Chair, indicated the Commission <br />was interested in establishing a program to assist senior citizens who are unable to paint their <br />homes. The Mayor requested staff investigate the matter. Councilmember McGuigan <br />suggested Tucker contact the Santa Ana Jaycees who were looking for a project for their <br />service organization. <br /> <br />Steve Quartararo, 811 N. Broadway, requested that the Council reconsider its action with <br />respect to the single-room occupancy ordinance and include his site at 811 N. Broadway <br />among those approved for development as a single-room occupancy structure. <br /> <br />Florence Leach, 2025 W. Tenth Street, expressed the opinion that many deficiencies existed <br />in the Washington Square Neighborhood Protection Plan. <br /> <br />Scan Mill, 617 S. Starboard, expressed the opinion that the City Council was fiscally <br />irresponsible in providing funds to the Santa Ana Chamber of Commerce and requested an <br />accounting of the use of those funds allocated to the Chamber by the City. The Mayor <br />requested the Assistant City Manager prepare such a report. <br /> <br />90.C. <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL COMMENTS <br /> <br />Councilmember Acosta requested a response from the City Attorney with respect to a recent <br />communication to the Council from Catellus Development. He also cited lack of appropriate <br />support from Council Services staff and requested a meeting with the Mayor to discuss the <br />subject. <br /> <br />Councilmember Acosta also presented a "Key to the City of Tecate" to Mayor Young from <br />Mayor J. Ruben Adame Loustaunau, Mayor of Tecate, which he had received on behalf of <br />Mayor Young during a recent visit to Tecate, Mexico. <br /> <br />In response to Councilmember Pulido, the Police Chief provided a brief status report on the <br />Department's implementation of the City's cruising ordinance and the operations of the Gang <br />Unit Task Force. <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL MINUTES 254 AUGUST 19, 1991 <br /> <br /> <br />
