CTNE course, a pre-screening process to select the participants <br />of the course will be established to make sure that the majority of attendees <br />will actually complete the course and their project of creating a business or <br />feasibility plan. The following facts will be taken into consideration: <br /> <br />Prospects to participate in the course will fill out an application form, <br />providing general information on the kind of business they would like to start- <br />up, if they have previous experience as business owners or at least basic <br />knowledge of the type of business chosen, their intended source of funds to <br />start up the business, as well as why they feel we should consider them to <br />receive a scholarship, etc. <br /> <br />A pre-screening form to evaluate the applicants will be completed by the <br />administrator of the program, grading the answers from each applicant. <br /> <br />Next, an interview by phone to gather additional information will be conducted, <br />including questions such as their employment status (Le., currently employed, <br />unemployed or dislocated worker, business owner, part- time worker, etc.) <br /> <br />After the interviews by phone, scholarships to attend the course will be <br />awarded to the people who, according to our rating criteria, are the most <br />suitable to attend and complete the course and their projects. <br /> <br />A notification by mail will be sent, along with a map of the site for the course <br />and directions. <br /> <br />All the attendees on each core seminar and CTNE course will receive a <br />document of participation. <br /> <br />Phone interviews to verify the progress of each participant will be initiated. <br />The results will be logged in to the tracking system. <br /> <br />A survey by mail will follow for both the core seminar attendees and the course <br />graduates upon completion of their program. <br /> <br />All the original forms and records will be filed and available for reviewing by <br />the Santa Ana WlOfRfK Center when necessary. Additionally, HBC will <br />document the number of jobs created and jobs retained, the increases in sales <br />and profits, and the awarding of financing. The frequency of reporting work <br />progress on the results of the seminars will be at a 90 and l80-day follow-up. <br />The information will be recorded by HBC and shared with the Santa Ana <br />WfO/RfK Center. <br /> <br />Furthermore, and in order to increase the effectiveness of this program, HBC is <br />pursuing funds to hire a Case Advocate to help these potential entrepreneurs <br />deal with filing government paperwork and to walk them through the process of <br /> <br />Hispanic Business Consultants (800) 642-1422 <br /> <br />6 <br />
