The objectives ^ Section 108 Loan <br />Block Grant (CDBG) are to fund housing activities and expand Repayments <br /> economic opportunities. Projects must meet ^ Public Facili0es <br />$7,106,574 one of three national objectves: benefit low- Improvements <br />(plus program Income) and moderate-income persons; aid in the ^ Code Enforcement <br /> prevention or elimination of slums or blight; or ^ Historic Preservation <br /> meet other urgent needs ^ Admin. & Plannin <br /> Grant program for housing to expand the <br />HOME Investment supply of decent, safe, and sanitary affordable ' Multi-Family <br />Partnership (HOME) Program housing. HOME is designed as a partnership Acquisition/Rehabilitation <br /> program between the federal, state, and local ^ <br />Single-Family Moderate <br />$2,455,368 governments, nonprofit and for-profit housing Rehabilitation. <br />(plus program income) entities to finance, build/rehabilitate and ^ CHDO Assistance <br /> manage housing for lower-income owners and program Administration <br /> renters <br />Emergency Shelter Grant Annual grant funds are allocated on a formula • Homelessness <br />(ESG) basis. Funds are intended to assist with the Prevention <br /> provision of shelter and social services for the Essential Services <br />$304,247 homeless Operating Expenses <br />Housing Opportunities for Funds are allocated to Santa Ana on behalf of Rental Assistance <br />Persons with AIDS (HOPWA) all jurisdictions in Orange County. Funds are ^ Supportive Social <br /> made available countywide for supportive <br />Services <br />51,359,000 social services, affordable housing <br />development, & rental assistance ^ Program Administration <br />American Dream <br />Downpayment Initiative <br />(ADDI) Funds for first-time homebuyer assistance Down payment and <br /> and first-time homebuyer training closing cost assistance <br />$31,304 <br /> JTPA is to provide economically <br />Workforce Investment Act disadvantaged Santa Ana youths and ^ Vocational Training <br /> unskilled adults with basic work skills and <br />On-the Job Training <br />$2,300,000 vocational training in order to obtain ~ <br />ESL and GED <br /> productive employment opportunities. The <br /> Santa Ana Private Industry Council serves Preparation Courses <br /> approximatel 1,000 residents <br /> Rental assistance program that provides a <br /> subsidy to very low-income families, <br />Housing Choice Vouchers individuals, seniors and the disabled. <br /> Participants pay 30 /o of their adjusted income <br />Rental Assistance <br />$23,532,050 toward rent.
