FOR POLICE <br />DEPARTMENT AUTOMATED MVG <br />PHOTO SYSTEM <br />V r+ <br />TY MANAGER <br />RECOMMENDED ACTION <br />APPROVED <br />^ As Recommended <br />^ As Amended <br />^ Ordinance on 1s~ Reading <br />^ Ordinance on 2n° Reading <br />^ Implementing Resolution <br />^ Set Public Hearing For <br />CONTINUED TO <br />FILE NUMBER <br />Direct the City Attorney to prepare and authorize the City Manager and the <br />Clerk of the Council to execute an agreement with ImageWare Systems, Inc. <br />for the annual maintenance and support of the Police Department's <br />automated mug photo system in an amount not to exceed $18,500. <br />DISCUSSION <br />The Police Department currently uses ImageWare to record and digitally <br />store mug photographs of subjects suspected of criminal activity and those <br />who are registering as a condition of their parole. The system also <br />produces photo line-ups, which are used to help identify suspects in <br />criminal cases. This agreement provides for the maintenance and support <br />needed for this system for a one-year period. ImageWare Systems, Inc. is <br />uniquely qualified to provide these services as they designed and <br />implemented the system. <br />FISCAL IMPACT <br />Funds are available in the Police Department's Computer Services Other <br />Contractual Services Account (account no. 11-338-6291). <br />APPROVED AS TO FUNDS AND ACCOUNTS: <br />`_~ i.~~J <br />Paul M.
