REQUEST FOR <br />COUNCIL ACTION <br />CITY COUNCIL MEETING DATE: <br />MAY 1, 2006 <br />TITLE: <br />AMENDMENT TO AGREEMENT FOR <br />ENGINEERING SERVICES WITH <br />TETRA TECH INC. <br />Education tat <br />CLERK OF COUNCIL USE ONLY: <br />APPROVED <br />^ As Recommended <br />^ As Amended <br />^ Ordinance on 1:~ Reading <br />^ Ordinance on 2nd Reading <br />^ Implementing Resolution <br />^ Set Public Hearing For <br />CONTINUED TO <br />FILE NUMBER <br />RECOMMENDED ACTION <br />Direct the City Attorney to prepare and authorize the City Manager and <br />the Clerk of the Council to execute an amendment to the agreement with <br />Tetra Tech Inc. in the amount of $27, 000 for a new contract amount of <br />$247,000 plus $25,000 contingency for a total not to exceed fee of <br />$272,000 for design of a new sewer lift station. <br />On June 20, 2005, City Council awarded a contract to Tetra Tech Inc. in <br />the amount of $220,000 to design a new sewer lift station. This new <br />facility will be located at the end of San Lorenzo Avenue just east of <br />the existing lift station on South Bristol (Exhibit 1). <br />Preliminary design and research has indicated that there may be <br />contaminated soil within the project site. This amendment is to <br />reimburse the consultant for soil investigation, testing, and laboratory <br />analysis to determine the exact location, nature and extent of any <br />contaminants. <br />ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT <br />There is no environmental impact associated with amending this agreement. <br />Any impact due to soil contamination will be addressed during final <br />design. <br />25H-1 <br />
