A-4. Landslides <br />No Impact <br />The project area is flat without any topographical relief. <br />According to General Plan Land Use Element EIR, there are no <br />landslide planes or slopes within the project area. Therefore, <br />implementation of the proposed project would not result in <br />adverse impacts in regards to landslides. <br />S. Would the project result in substantial soil erosion or the <br />loss of topsoil? <br />Potentially Significant Unless Mitigation Incorporated <br />Erosion refers to the removal of soil from exposed bedrock <br />surfaces by water or wind. The effects of erosion are <br />intensified with an increase in slope, the narrowing of runoff <br />channels and by the removal of groundcover, which leaves the <br />soil exposed. <br />Construction operations for the proposed project would require <br />the grading of onsite soils. The uncovered soils on the project <br />site could potentially result in erosion and sedimentation <br />impacts to onsite and offsite drainage facilities. This <br />potential impact could increase during periods of rain. To <br />reduce potential erosion impacts to a level considered less than <br />significant, the following mitigation measure shall be <br />implemented. <br />Mitigation Measure <br />• Prior to the issuance of grading permits, the project <br />developer shall show proof of coverage under NPDES General <br />Industrial Activity Storm Water Permit, which includes a <br />copy of the project's permit issued by the State Water <br />Resource Control Board that identifies the permit number. <br />• Prior to the issuance of a grading permit the applicant <br />shall submit for review and approval a surface <br />drainage/grading plan/erosion control plan, prepared by a <br />registered Civil Engineer, showing the direction and means <br />of flow to adjacent streets. The plan is to include <br />existing and proposed elevations at and adjacent to all <br />property lines. Drainage routed to the street must be <br />directed beneath the sidewalk and through the curb. <br />13 <br />3~f ~7 <br />
