Pro\ide projected numbers of Santa Ana residents to be ser>ed, and the kinds of services they would receive if your program is funded. Also describe the specific actions and tasks that \\Quid be performed on a day-to-day basis to achieve these goals. Goal: To help young people strenghten their cultural pride and develop more self confidence by teaching them the history and form of Mexican folklorical dances. Objectives: 1. Enroll 25-30 low-income Santa Ana students in our dance classes and pay a teacher to teach the class. Task/Action: (A) Ask students and parents to help recrnit additional students. (B) Have parents complete family income forms. (C) Award dance scholarships after review by two Board members. (D) Provide weekly dance instruction classes. (E) Prepare quarterly reports for City and Board. 1. Provide costnmes for 16-18 low-income students to allow them to participate in commnnity performances. Ta~k/Action: (A) Review of scholarship list by instructor, then his/her meeting with parents privately to discuss how much of the costume the parent can make or buy. (B) Place orders for needed costnme pieces. (C) Use costnmes for public performances. (D) Maintain inventory of purchased costnme pieces and provide storage. We achieve our goal by providing high quality cultural arts dance instruction, by demanding concentration and hard work from the students, and by letting them share in the satisfaction of doing a job well Students see that parents and community volunteers care enough to give their time, money, and effort to help create a learning and satisfYing experience for them.
