FOR <br />PREVENTIVE ELEVATOR MAINTENANCE <br />CITY MANAGER <br />RECOMMENDED ACTION <br />CLERK OF COUNCIL USE ONLY: <br />APPROVED <br />^ As Recommended <br />^ As Amended <br />^ Ordinance on 1s` Reading <br />^ Ordinance on Intl Reading <br />^ Implementing Resolution <br />^ Set Public Hearing For <br />CONTINUED TO <br />FILE NUMBER <br />Direct the City Attorney to prepare and authorize <br />Clerk of the Council to execute an agreement with <br />for preventive maintenance for a one-year period <br />year renewals exercisable by the City Manager or <br />annual amount not to exceed $30,816. <br />DISCUSSION <br />the City Manager and the <br />Amtech Elevator Service <br />with options for four one- <br />his designee, in the <br />Twelve elevators operate in City facilities, including City Hall, the Ross <br />Annex, the Main Library, the Corporation Yard and the Santa Ana Zoo. <br />Regular preventive maintenance, including periodical testing, is required <br />to maintain the safety and operation of the equipment. <br />Thyssen elevators has provided this service for the past five years. Staff <br />mailed out a request for proposal for this service to four vendors on <br />February 27, 2006. Three proposals were received and opened on March 31, <br />2006. Proposals were evaluated for technical expertise, strength of the <br />firm, proposal completeness and references submitted (Exhibit 1). The <br />proposal from Amtech Elevator Service was responsive and meets the City's <br />requirements.
